History

The Ramp Up Transformation got its start in the late 90's in a lifestyle fitness program for women who felt alienated from gyms, typically dieting to lose weight by cutting calories and fat and using their shear will to follow ridiculously low calories diets with YoYo outcomes

I formed groups of women together that allowed us to teach a progressively challenging regimen and walk the groups through the fitness conditioning stages in a motivating class. My partner gyms were amazed how many we brought into their gyms that stuck with their routines long after the program. Ramp has always been focused on retention, not short term quick fix makeovers.

The RAMP program today is a multi-faceted holistic approach to the complete lifestyle, from a fitness perspective it is focused on 4 dimensions which are delivered in segments over the initial 6 weeks and continue for the duration of the program with consistent but smaller increases in intensity week to week, hence the Ramp Effect.

A women returning to fitness from ground zero can expect to move through the stages of reconditioning without any trauma at all :).

The 4 dimensions of fitness in Ramp include:

  1. CardioRespiratory Fitness

  2. Flexibility

  3. Core

  4. Strength

Slower and safer exercise translates into less soreness, less risk of injury, better and more sustainable results and a more positive experience, which is critical in the beginning when you are trying to retain the motivation of students who are facing an uphill climb to get back in the swing of things!

No workout will ever be too hard to complete regardless of your situation because we use "modifiers" for students who need them.

RAMP provides exercise options in the gym, at-home and while traveling. This means we have all the bases covered!
